Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a New York City Department of Education Public School teacher in the Bronx, I have witnessed students of all ages, year after year, facing several obstacles that occur both in and out of the school environment. Even though they face many challenges at an early age, my students try their best to overcome their hardships with a positive mindset. They arrive at school every morning with motivation and eagerness to learn.

I plan to use the Fraction Stax and giant magnetic fraction circles to teach mathematics with a hands-on approach to help my students create equivalent fractions, and the Magnetic boards and affixes to help my students understand how words are formed.
