My Students

I completely changed jobs! I am now a Resource Teacher at two different schools. This means I get to work with the students who have specific plans to help them with their academics. I love working with these little ones so much, more than I ever realized.

I typically have around 15 students on my caseload and many more that need the support but don't have the official plans yet.

I am in school where over 90% of our population is poverty. Several of my students have dealt with trauma in their lives that I could not even imagine. I love making school the place where they feel welcomed and loved.

My Project

I would like to purchase some items to help my students with hands on learning. I need some math manipulatives including place value blocks, fraction bars, and fraction circles. These manipulatives are in personal student packets so my students do not have to share the manipulatives during COVID-19. I also would like to purchase some reading games and manipulatives to help students ID letters, find the beginning letter sounds, and determine the sight words.

This project will help benefit students who have IEPs and need help learning in a different way than students in the general education classroom.

Beginning out this school year at two different schools I began with nothing and have been spending a lot of my own money trying to make up for what my students need. This would be a small help to get my students what they need and help my students be the best learners they can be.
