Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are so excited to learn and each day are achieving more milestones. We have been working hard to learn our letters and now are ready to use this knowledge to build our literacy skills.

My class is a special education kindergarten class made up of many bilingual students who came to school eager to learn.

They came knowing very little English and have grown tremendously thus far this year. It is also a class made up of very different learners. Many of the students benefit from hands-on and tactile learning supports to both engage and to enhance their learning.

My Project

The Sound pocket chart will allow students to work with one another to practice sounds while also having fun. The fishing game will also allow students to identify sounds and letters in a fun manner. Social skills are so important for my students. These different games will allow them to interact with each other.

These literacy tools will have a huge impact on my students.

They will add to our center time in which students are expected to work with one another to build skills. While they are working in these different centers I am better able to work with small groups and conference to better assess my students' needs.
