My Students

My students are multi cultural and are different in so many ways but then yet again so similar. I am the Special Education resource room teacher who assists special needs students on their difficulty accessing the least restrictive environment (general education classroom).

Sometimes they just require a listening ear, compassion and other times they need to sharpen their skills to compete with their peers.

My classroom is a safe place to "let their hair down" and shoot for the stars. The sky is the limit!!

My Project

My students benefit the most from hands on learning. They are kinesthetic learners who learn best from working with their hands. They also benefit from doing an activity that has a "game" like challenge. This makes them feel they are playing a game instead of reading a text which most find boring. It takes a lot for my reluctant readers to actually pick up a book to read. By having the VersaTiles the "game" aspect levels up their learning to a "game" like experience!! Who can resist playing a game and competing for the top spot as the winner, none of my students would pass that opportunity up!!!
