This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Hands-on learning is so important in making the learning relevant and fun to the learner. My students love using technology to practice the skills we are learning in class.

My students are very low income.

They do not have a lot of opportunities outside of school. They are also often hard to motivate due to lack of parental involvement. Technology is a way to get the students excited about learning. In my class, it is important that the students not only understand but also participate. Having iPad and iPod touches is a great way to motivate students to learn, practice, and use technology. Also, I want these students to be efficient with using technology in the future. This is a great opportunity to teach them how to use these items and also how to care for them.

My Project

My students love having technology in the classroom. The iPad minis, iPad, and the iPod touch will be used for many things. First, we can take pictures to document our learning. This will make it very easy to upload to our class blog and instagram account. Also, we will use them to practice skills using the various apps in all subjects. Lastly, we can use them to read on (like an E-reader). This will help the students have more books to choose from and also experience books in a new way. The cases will help protect them so that they will last for many years.

As a donor, you have the opportunity to change students lives.

My students this year and for many years to come will benefit from having these iPads and iPod touch in class. The students in my class will be able to practice the skills so that they will be successful in fourth grade and prepared for fifth grade and later in life.
