Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project will focus on a series of workshops where students will explore various themes through art, hands-on crafts, and creative expression. We will acquire themed t-shirts, writing tools, and materials for creating instruments, such as hand drums and other art supplies. Each workshop will center on a specific topic, allowing students to dive into subjects like storytelling, cultural exploration, and environmental awareness. With your support, we will provide materials for students to engage in creative projects that promote critical thinking, collaboration, and real-world applications.

For example, in one workshop, students will create their own hand drums as they learn about the cultural significance of music in different societies.

They will collaborate in small groups, developing teamwork skills and discovering how art can be a powerful form of expression and communication. Using the writing tools, they will also write stories or poems inspired by their projects, reinforcing their literacy skills in an engaging way.

The themed t-shirts will not only serve as a memorable takeaway but also help foster a sense of community among participants. By actively engaging in project-based learning, students will gain valuable insights into how creativity and collaboration can lead to innovative solutions and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
