Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

At our school, we do our best to provide an atmosphere that comes along and supports all kinds of learners. We have many students who are English Language Learners and more than three-quarters of students from low-income households. Many of my students do not have access to the resources that will help them succeed. However, my fourth graders are very enthusiastic learners. They are hard-working, passionate, inquisitive and sponges who soak up everything put in front of them. They love a challenge and the more concrete and kinesthetic learning can be the more they gravitate to it.

My Project

Throughout my first two years of teaching, I noticed that the best learning was done when I allowed it to be hands-on and creative. The materials that I chose for this project will promote students' learning by providing them more opportunities to grow deeper in their understanding of Math through academic play and hands-on manipulation.

Students will begin taking ownership of their learnings and develop the skills needed - not because they have to - but because they want to and experience the benefits and joys at their accomplishments.

As a Title I school our resources are limited so any donation big or small will be a great help to my students. Thank you for the support!
