This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
One of my favorite parts of teaching is getting to watch my kiddos learn and grow through social learning. One of the ways that I let my kids learn socially, is through "center time". This is a time designed to give them opportunities to use their imagination along with what they are currently learning in the classroom. It is amazing to get to sit back and watch them use their unique minds and create and learn together. Hearing the conversations between them during this social time is always so rewarding, and the requested magnetic dinosaurs, the penguin ice blocks, the burger sequencing game, and number bots will be key to their learning at their centers. I always am amazed to see how much they need and crave this opportunity to learn and grow socially.
