My Students

I have eleven, amazing students with special needs, ranging from eight to ten years old in a self-contained classroom. They have autism and learning impairments. These kiddos are near and dear to my heart because I have an adult son with severe special needs. He's my inspiration and the reason I became a teacher.

My Project

I walked into my new classroom to find a set of place value blocks and curriculum books; that was all. Since then, I have acquired used puzzles from my mother and have purchased games for their math and reading stations when I can, but it's no where near enough.

Students of every ability deserve exciting classroom learning games that enhance reasoning, math, and literacy skills they have been taught.

I need puzzles, games, and building materials for reading and math rotations. My students get so excited when they see those games! Just the thought of playing a fun learning game with their peers, keeps them on track during my small group instruction if they know what's coming up! Hands-on learning will almost always excite even the most reluctant learner! Will you help us?
