Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Math manipulatives, decodable readers, flexible seating, and essential classroom supplies are crucial for my 1st grade special education inclusion classroom. Math manipulatives offer hands-on learning opportunities, helping my students grasp abstract concepts through concrete experiences, which is particularly beneficial for those with diverse learning styles. Decodable readers support early literacy by aligning with phonics instruction, boosting the confidence and skills of students with learning disabilities. Flexible seating options, such as wobble cushions, create a comfortable and adaptable environment, accommodating sensory and physical needs to promote focus and collaboration. Essential supplies like sensory tools, writing materials, and organizational aids further support fine motor development, organization, and sensory regulation. My goals for this project are to enhance student engagement, improve academic outcomes, and create an inclusive classroom where every student feels valued and supported. My students are special because of their resilience, diversity, and unique perspectives. By providing these resources, I aim to empower them to reach their full potential and foster a lifelong love of learning.
