My Students

My students are busy learners. The majority are learning a new language and need ways to explore English in a social and academic setting. Center time lets all my students expand their language skills in a fun, exciting way.

My enthusiastic language learners are busy striving to do their best every day.

Each brings their own spirit to learn a new language and culture to our classroom, which enriches our learning. Their range of abilities varies from newcomers to proficient learners. Our public school is in an urban environment and hosts a large diversity of cultures.

My Project

My students look forward to center time and exploring new ways of learning. The materials selected will reach all my students. There is a large range of English language skills in our class. These materials will give everyone opportunities to develop their language skills. These centers will give my students hands-on activities. It's important they learn their sight word and learn to decode sound. The sight word string up center and vowel games will help them achieve these skills.

Through social interactions from these learning centers my students are building their language skills needed to success in first grade.

Playing charades is always a great childhood memory. This resource helps with the social aspect of learning. My students LOVE working together in centers. These materials allows them to communicate while working to build on their skills. The majority of my students are English Language learners who need extra language support. These materials are engaging and inviting to learning. The phonic centers will allow my students to work on building words, learning new sounds, and developing their sight word vocabulary.
