Our kindergarten classrooms lost many hands-on activities and daily materials due to hurricane Ian. My ESE students learn best when they can manipulate materials to practice skills learned to help them learn to read and understand basic math skills. The Early Math Folder Game, Magnetic Sound Sorting Boards, Alphabet Learning Locks, Double-Sided Magnetic Number Tiles and more will give us a jump start into hands on learning as we return to school even though students personal lives and their classroom have lost many things. These materials will also offer a way to encourage and foster interest in learning during a time when students will struggle to want to feel open to engage in learning when their minds are trying to understand what has happened in the destruction of Ian.
