My Project

Bringing Hands-On Hydroponics to My STEM Classroom

In my STEM classroom, I strive to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences that inspire curiosity and innovation.

This donation will provide my students with the tools to explore hydroponics, a sustainable method of growing plants without soil. With net pots, Rockwool starter plugs, and heirloom seeds, they will actively experiment with plant growth, learn about ecosystems, and develop problem-solving skills in a real-world context.

My goal for this project is to deepen my students’ understanding of plant science while fostering critical thinking and collaboration. By designing and maintaining their own hydroponic systems, they will gain a deeper appreciation for agriculture, environmental sustainability, and engineering principles. This project will also encourage them to take ownership of their learning, as they observe, adjust, and refine their setups over time.

What makes my students special is their natural curiosity and eagerness to learn through exploration. They love hands-on experiments and thrive when given opportunities to engage in inquiry-based learning. This donation will help bring science to life in a way that is both meaningful and exciting, empowering them to see themselves as future scientists, engineers, and problem-solvers. With your support, my students will embark on a journey of discovery that extends beyond the classroom and into the world of innovative, sustainable technology.
