My Project

We have a unique community located within a national park and we were impacted by Covid in multiple ways. Because many of the jobs here are service based and dining and lodging facilities shut down or were restricted, many families were impacted by job loss and the disruption of moving. Additionally, we have a high number of Native American students and their families were disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. As a result, some students haven't had consistency or structure in learning and we are working to help these students adjust to the school learning environment.

Hands-on learning is a great way to engage the students and help reinforce concepts they are learning.

The materials chosen for this project were selected to help with early literacy and math skills. We need ink pads, magnetic blocks, fidget toys, and more! These materials supplement lessons and reinforce core concepts while engaging the children in activities they find interesting. Many of the materials are also cooperative in nature and promote social and emotional growth as the students learn to to be good citizens in their classrooms.
