My Students

I teach energetic kindergarteners at a new school in Brooklyn. This year is a brand new experience for the kindergarteners. We learn best by providing fun and engaging activities for our students when they are reading, writing, doing math, learning their letters etc. Our students are in need of essential resources and materials that will benefit their educational growth in this grade.

Our school is truly a barrier free school, serving all students who walk through the doors.

We want all those students to learn with joy. Our goal is to find the gifted in all of our students through challenging curriculum, project based learning and creating fun and engaging lessons, targeting all the ways students learn best.

Many of our students stay in an after-school program until after 5 PM each day while their parents work. Our students love to learn and truly get excited about being in the classroom!

My Project

My kinders and I are a unique situation. We are all starting off this year in a brand new school building! While fun and exciting, our classroom lacks some basic materials that can make the day-to-day learning in reading, math and writing more engaging and differentiated to all of my learners. The materials I have asked for will enhance my students’ learning and make them for excited for each and every school day.

The library storage cart, bins and library check out chart will allow my students to have an organized place to check out books that interest them during the school day as well as have the ability to take books home to read with their families, further building a stronger connection between school and home learning.

The sing along Read Alouds will help some of my ENL learners to be able to absorb more storybook vocabulary as well as be able to hear and see how a story connects from page to page.

The educational games, like Early Math Instant Learning Centers and Phonemic Awareness Instant Learning Centers, will help build my students’ sight word knowledge, phonemic awareness and math skills. These games will engage my students as well as support all the learning that will be taking place this year.
