My Students

We have a highly effective, inclusive preschool program on my campus that requires ongoing, essential, and consumable materials to provide a quality classroom experience. Specifically, for this project, I hope to obtain materials that will be used to help children develop their fine motor skills.

Our inclusive preschool program is called ETK/PCC, which stands for Expanded Transitional Kindergarten/Preschool Collaborative Classroom.

It includes eight students with disabilities and sixteen students without disabilities. This is an innovative preschool model where students with special needs learn, play, and grow alongside their typically-developing peers. Research has shown time and time again that these inclusive classrooms are beneficial to both students with and without disabilities, while building a culture of compassion, acceptance, and friendships without boundaries.

We are a Title l school, a term that many may have heard about but may not fully understand. Title l is the nation's oldest and largest federally funded program that provides funds to at-risk students living at or near poverty. Title l aims to bridge the gap between low-income students and other students. While my school has benefited from Title l funds, many other needs go unmet, and we need your support.

My Project

I am requesting arts and crafts materials for my hard-working preschoolers, including craft sticks, feathers, wiggly eyes, construction paper, art trays, and a variety of other items to enhance creativity and fine motor skills. These materials will be used to make a wide assortment of art projects, including free art exploration where students will be encouraged to expand their imagination.

Working with a variety of art materials will help children develop their creativity and fine motor skills.

As the children work with a variety of crafts materials, they are increasing their precision, strength, coordination, and efficiency when using muscles of their hands for play and functional tasks.
