Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Last year I began to notice that having my students use more tactile activities sparked something very interesting inside them. I began to give them more activities where they would need to fold, cut, glue paper in ways that they can practice the vocabulary and grammar. Seeing how engaged they were made me decide to continue to using paper in different ways for their learning. The art drying rack, tissue paper and the printer color paper will help me able give my students other mediums of art to connect with the lessons. The tools that I requested are to: dry the work that they have when we do aztec codex paper, tissue paper that they will use to create colorful flowers that they can share as a friendship gesture for Kindness Week, and color printer paper that they will fold and create little "chapter books" to write on. My goal for my students is to have more hands-on activities where they can move away from their screens an onto paper where they can express their own creativity.
