My Students

My class includes 6 non to low verbal students on the autism spectrum. The children often need assistance throughout the day to help stay motivated and focused.

I am asking for your assistance in receiving items to build fine motor, writing/reading and math centers in my classroom, to help the children be able to maintain and generalize skills being learned throughout the year.

My class would greatly benefit from having objects that can be made into fine motor, reading and math centers. This would aid them in concentrating on the teacher as well as the activities .

Children thrive when they are at their best and I am hoping that having these manipulatives at there fingertips in the classroom will help them stay focused. Thank you for your generosity.

My Project

I am seeking help in expanding my classroom centers. There are many different part of a classroom and I believe centers are very important. You can incorporate many subjects in to centers.

When children are learning through centers they have the advantage of using hands on materials thus stimulating their minds.

When children have the advantage of learning in reading, writing, math, sensory and fine motor centers, they are able to generalize and maintain many skills.

The activities and manipulatives asked for assist children in achieving their goals for the year. For example; the early math manipulative library and the math activity center, would provide all the essential math concepts that would need to explore. The buckets filled with a variety of manipulatives ranging from counting and sorting to basic measurement operations would allow the children to use the materials to have an active hands on experience.

Another center in our classroom will be fine motor and sensory. The two items that will add to this center is; theraputty and the tweezer tongs sorting kit. The theraputy helps children work on fine motor muscles when pulling apart, rolling, squeezing and poking. The tweezer sorting set requested has multipurposes. While helping children build fine motor skills it also works on helping children receptor way and expressively I just colors

Furthermore, the following items will help store the manipulatives in each center to ensure organization and structure for the students.

These manipulatives would expand my centers in the classroom and therefor expand the children's imagination and shapes their minds. Learning is a better when its fun!
