My Project

My preschool students are learning a new unit of study each month. To celebrate the knowledge that they learned, I would like to celebrate all their hard work by giving them a hands-on baking experience of baking sugar cookies in the shape of the different objects which we have been learning about.

We are currently just finishing up our clothing unit of study, and the student's will be having a fashion show showing off their favorite clothing, but I would also like the students to be able to bake cookies in the shape of people and decorate them wearing different clothing.

They could also cut out cookies in the shape of different types of clothing like shirts, pants, dresses, sweaters, mittens and sneakers.

My students are a very diverse group of young learners. Some are migrant children who don't even speak English. I want to be able to give all my students these positive learning experiences they might not have otherwise. The students will also be using

mathematics, language skills, and fine motor skills while measuring, mixing, rolling, cutting and decorating their cookies.
