Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work at a school with a lot of diverse learners and varying levels of ability. I primarily work with the special day classes on campus. I want materials that foster creativity and learning for all children. I want to provide them with increased hands on learning experiences to enhance their language development and create communication opportunities through high interest activities, movement, and sensory exploration. My students enjoy making crafts and doing activities with their hands. Seeing the results gives them a sense of pride and seeing their work displayed in the classroom fills them with happiness. High interest activities facilitate language development and communication. Completing projects helps them feel successful and a sense of achievement. Many of them are excited to take their projects/crafts home to share with their families.
