My Students

We are a small, K-8 Title 1 public school in a culturally diverse neighborhood in New York City. The majority of our students come from low-income households. They are enthusiastic, expressive, curious learners who love painting, drawing, sculpting with clay, and really anything they can be creative with! With budget cuts having affected New York public schools in recent years, it has become difficult for us to sometimes purchase even some of the most basic of supplies for our art classroom.

My Project

The requested resources will be used to be sure that students' supplies and student spaces stay clean and disinfected. I am a K-8 Art teacher and will be traveling from classroom to classroom this year.

With hundreds of students sharing Art supplies, I want to be sure that I protect and care for each and every one of my students by keeping the supplies, their hands, and their work spaces clean!

The disinfectant spray, hand sanitizer, and Lysol wipes are just basic necessities to keeping our classrooms germ free. Hopefully our cleanliness routines will help students to stay safe and healthy and allow them to have high attendance rates so they can meet their academic and social skills goals!
