Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The school that I work at serves a variety of students who come from multiple cultural and family backgrounds. Our PreK- 5th grade school has a diverse population. As a unique quality, our students get to experience an American Sign Language environment with our DHH (Deaf and Hard of Hearing) program.
The students at our school love to learn, and they love being able to come to a fun, safe, caring, and learning environment.
We have a wide variety of student needs at our school. We are a Title I school that has a very high mobility rate. They find comfort in the fact that school is one of the most constant aspects of some of their lives.
My students aspire to achieve the best despite any difficult circumstances they encounter along the way. They find joy in learning, and enjoy any provided learning opportunity.
My Project
These books will be used to help my students during their distance learning experience. My students need tangible materials to help them better access their learning and these books will provide them with actual paper to better interact and learn with!
My school is currently operating in the red phase meaning that all learning must be done remotely.
This means that my students are unable to learn in the classroom and must learn from home. These books will be used during our remote and hybrid learning formats. Having access to these books will make it easier for my families to have everything they need to learn. These books will be a true game-changer for them!
