My Students

My students are young, enthusiastic, and funny, but also misunderstood and sometimes labeled according to mistakes they've made. They meet every challenge with creativity, imagination and hard work. My students long to see themselves represented in a positive light in the books they read. It is a beautiful experience to watch my students connect with literature.

My Project

I am requesting books for my students. I would like to take this opportunity to put a book in the hands of each one of my students. My students have varying interests and I have selected a book with each student in mind and a I would like for this project to be a way that each student can hae a book of their own to have and take home, or maybe read and trade with other students. Some of my students are really having reawakenings to their love of reading, whereas others are still tentative and hesitant to really engage in reading. I am hoping this project will help everyone connect with a book of their own.

Ms. Willis The Learning Center Grades 9-12
