My Students

I moved from NYC to Pennsylvania just a year ago and will be working at a public school near the city of Pittsburgh. Our school has limited funding available. My students come from diverse backgrounds and hard-working families. The school is a small K-4 elementary school and does not have funding to put towards classroom furniture and supplies.

My new classroom will be with amazing first graders who will be adapting to this new way of COVID classroom life.

I would really love to enough math materials to keep students engaged during lessons and allow them to self check their work.

My Project

These materials will help my first graders visualize counting and the numbers they are working with. Having hands on resources that are interactive makes learning math more enjoyable.

Math kits will allow me to reinforce concepts taught in class for reteaching in small groups or for independent work.

At this young age helping students really understand how numbers work and explaining solutions to solving problems is essential.

I will also be able to send materials home for students who are learning remotely or who need additional practice. I will be able to create kits for them to use wherever they are learning.
