My Students

"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." Benjamin Franklin. My students are involved in their learning through various hands on Science explorations. They are scientists. With the planting materials, they will further develop their knowledge about the world.

This is the first year for my school, and we are a group of very dedicated educators.

We are always looking for new ways to encourage the students to explore their surroundings. My students are predominately English Language Learners. They show enthusiasm when coming to school, and excitement when participating in exploration activities. We work hard to encourage family participation in all aspects of the children's education.

My Project

We will begin learning about various plant life and habitats. Through hands on explorations, technology and literature the students will learn about plant life. They will learn more than just planting a seed and watching it grow. These materials will help the children to explore and record their observations. They will be able to visually revisit previous observations and compare them to changes. They will be able to predict how different habitats can change and affect a plants growth. They will learn about how plants help us, and the animals in each habitat. They will be able to see the parts of a plant as it grows and compare it to other plants. They will make observations on how we care for each plant; whether they need the same care or not.

This project will improve the classroom by bringing nature inside.

It will provide more opportunities for the students to observe and interact with nature in a safe way. This project will better the children's education by teaching them how to take care of nature and the world we live in. It will teach them to respect the planet and each other. By making observations and predictions, we are developing the students problem solving skills, which will help them in the upper grades.
