Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In this difficult time in our economy, the arts suffer the most. Students don't get all of the opportunities they should. Organizations like my school guitar club provide a unique opportunity for students to pick up an instrument and stay on a steady track in school.

My school is a title one school and 95% of all of my students are on the free or reduced lunch program.

We are located in the heart of Dallas, TX in Dallas ISD. However, all of my students are great kids who have a passion for music and a love for the guitar. Programs such as the after school guitar provides opportunities for students to pick up an instrument and learn a skill that will last a lifetime.

My Project

The acoustic guitars, picks, and straps that I am requesting will serve two purposes: It is imperative to maintain the instruments for the program for many years of service. This is why I am requesting more instruments to be able to provide this service, free of charge, for my students and keep this opportunity available for years to come.

The project is very important to my students and my guitar club as it provides opportunities for further growth not only in the learning aspect of guitar but for maintenance for my instruments.

This will give me the chance to provide the guitar club to students for many years to come. Thank you for all of your support!
