This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Dear Donors,

I am seeking your support to procure essential guitar repair supplies, specifically color-coded guitar strings and other guitar repair materials, for my music classroom.

My students are passionate young musicians who are eager to learn and create. By providing these supplies, we will not only enhance their ability to maintain their instruments but also foster a sense of the DIY ethos I wish to teach this year, as well as pride in their musical journey.

The goal of this project is to equip students with the skills to repair and maintain their guitars, thus deepening their understanding of music technology. Learning to change strings and perform basic repairs empowers them to take responsibility for their instruments, enhancing their engagement and commitment to learning. As students become more proficient in guitar maintenance, they will develop problem-solving skills and gain confidence in their abilities.

Color-coded guitar strings will add a vibrant visual element to our classroom, making the learning experience more appealing and encouraging creativity. It will also be used as a teaching tool using a color chord chart.

My students are special because they embody resilience and passion for music, often overcoming significant obstacles to pursue their dreams. With your generous support, we can provide them with the tools they need to thrive both musically and personally. Together, we can inspire the next generation of musicians and help them realize their potential.
