Help Ms. Whitaker

My ideal classroom offers students several opportunities to develop nurturing interacting skills with all living things. I teach fourth grade language arts and social studies. Our school population is largely composed of students who are from a high-poverty socio-economic background and is located in an inner-city in North Carolina.

One of my goals is to expose my students to as many experiences that foster nurturing and codependency skills. Due to the high poverty, socio-economic backgrounds of my students, there is often a lack of experiences present in their everyday lives. I observed a high level of interest in animals from my student when we nurture and care for pets in our classroom.

I need a small animal cage, bedding and food supplies, and a set of books to supplement and enhance our reading materials to effectively incorporate these ideals with my students.

With your assistance, my students will have a chance to develop lifelong communication and nurturing skills that will prepare them for positive interactions with their peers and adults.
