My Project

Gamefication has become a great tool in education these days. Going beyond worksheets helps students engage with the material. Getting them actively involved with work will help them learn at a much fast rate and they are more likely to retain the material. It is the best feeling in the world seeing all of your actively engaged in a lesson, tricking them into learning.

Guess Who Is a game most of us grew up with, but I wanted to use it to push students to notice details from the reading.

They'll pick a character from our novels blind and then ask each other specific questions about their character in order to describe who it is. For examples, with our Greek Mythology unit one student may pick Athena and the other Hermes. Then, they will ask each other questions about the god's parentage, powers, or origin. They'll use the information from the reading to discover who the other's deity is. They'll work with the material playing a game.
