Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My students are sixth, seventh, and eighth graders in a dual-language school. My school is a special place and a wonderful community. Teachers and students alike are happy to be in school and are excited and eager to learn.
Remote learning has been tough, but we are finding ways to stay connected through extracurricular clubs like GSA.
My Project
The Gender and Sexuality Alliance at my middle school has been growing over the past few years. It has been difficult to run during remote learning because many LGBTQ+ students prefer the anonymity of GSA in school. However, we have found a way to support these students through a remote club.
Students designed these hoodies as a subtle way to show their participation in GSA.
The frog animal can be a symbol of gender fluidity and the pink triangle is a less obvious symbol of the LGBTQ+ community. Students worked hard on this design!
