My Students

Do you remember the first time you fell in love with a book, or played a game with friends and ended up with a great story? My students not only love stories, but story telling. They are creative and their desire to collaborate in telling stories is voracious. Being a small, rural, Title 1 school leaves us with an excess of ability and desire as well as a dire lack of resources.

These students thrive despite a lack of opportunity; with the right resources they would be truly limitless.

My students range in grade from 6th-9th, Special Education and General Education, and I see them for everything from remedial reading, to behavior and life skills, to Algebra 1. In every grade and subject I try to help foster an interest and love of reading. They deserve the opportunity to develop those skills and flex their creative muscles.

My Project

I chose the resources specifically to give my students what they need to hit the ground running. With Player's Handbooks, dice, and other books listed they will have everything they need to start developing their own adventures. They will create their own characters and guide those characters through stories of their own design.

My special education students will be able to develop their social skills.

My struggling readers will be able to improve their reading and creative thinking abilities, and non-athletic students will have another choice for extra-curricular activities.

Together, we can help my students create their own worlds. By starting this club, my students will have the opportunity to grow both academically and personally.
