My Students

My students this year are so dedicated to learning and so appreciative to come to school each day they can. They have shown resilience and grace in challenging situations and are yearning for more. I want to be able to provide them with resources to support the learning they deserve. They follow the safety guidelines and sit 6 feet apart with masks and still are such strong and active members of our class community using signals to participate in class discussions and add on to each other.

My Project

Using devices in the classroom and not being able to share resources has been challenging. The growth mindset and daily language journals will be a great way for students to be reflective and record language development all in one place. It's not only safe (as each student will have their own), it makes it easy to share with our friends fostering a healthy class community. Papers won't fly everywhere and end up in the trash and it will be a keepsake for years to come. Being able to record examples of a growth mindset are important during these challenging times faced with limited mobility. It will help my students focus on growth and a positive perspective for ourselves and each other.

The beautiful bulletin board set will light up our classroom and make our published work sparkle!

My students will come in everyday to positive phrases posted spreading unity and smiles of joy. Having a theme will brighten up our room all over from calendar and morning activities to what we'll be learning about each day framed with sparkles. Bookcases are turned and covered because we cannot currently share resources. This sparkling set will make our class much more attractive to be in all day and will give students a sense of pride in their learning and displayed accomplishments.

The colorful dry erase markers will be key for students to show their learning using whiteboards. We use them daily for each subject and they have one black marker that gets lost or dry every other day. These assortment of colors and thickness will give them a step ahead to show and share how to spell words, write sentences, and solve math problems in a rainbow of colors!

The journals, bulletin set and markers will transform our daily learning lives!
