Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a wonderful, motivated group of diverse learners in my classroom. I have students who speak English as a second language with home languages of Spanish, Arabic, Korean, and Tagalog. There are also many students who come from low-income families without the opportunity to use technology at home. Their parents are very supportive of their education, so students are equally motivated. My students come to school excited to learn new things every day! They love to read, write, solve math problems and learn about science.

My Project

My students love to read and listen to stories. They are learning how to read by reading books at their level. The Guided Reading books will help students learn at their level. They learn so much from books. Not only do they learn how to read, but they learn valuable lessons too. The read aloud books will work perfectly with the Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) activities we do in our classroom. Many of the books have a message that will help my students develop a growth mindset. These books will teach students to become more confident in their abilities to solve problems.

Your donation will not only help students learn to read, but also give them the mindset to become great thinkers and problem solvers in the future.

They will learn that it is okay to make mistakes, learn from them, and be creative in coming up with new solutions. This is exactly the mindset students need to succeed in the changing world. My students can enjoy literature, and at the same time learn that they can do ANYTHING, even if they can't do it YET!
