My Project

Teaching in our school has been an incredible experience because of my amazing students. They are some of the kindest, most curious, and hardworking learners I’ve ever met. What makes them truly special is their eagerness to dive into hands-on learning—when given the chance to explore through experiments and investigations, they go beyond my expectations every time. Their enthusiasm for discovery fuels my passion as a teacher, and I want to continue providing them with meaningful learning experiences.

This year, my students will be working on their Science Investigatory Project, focusing on soil quality and the germination of carrots and sunflower seeds.

As they begin their experiments this February through March, they will engage in real-world scientific inquiry, analyzing how different soil conditions affect plant growth. These projects will not only enhance their understanding of science but also develop essential skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, and data analysis—skills that will benefit them far beyond the classroom.

However, being in a remote location with limited school funding presents challenges in acquiring the materials needed for these investigations. That’s why I am reaching out to generous supporters through this project. By contributing, you will help provide my students with the necessary tools and resources like the mold making kits and raised planter beds to conduct meaningful experiments, empowering them to think like real scientists and tackle real-world problems. Your support will make a lasting impact on their education, fostering their love for learning and inspiring them to pursue their curiosity.

Thank you for believing in my students and helping bring hands-on science to life in Unalaska!
