My Project

My students with Autism bring a perspective to the classroom that enriches my teaching life. They come to school as kindergarteners facing challenges with fine motor skills that impact their ability to access and participate in the general education curriculum. To be able to develop the fine motor skills necessary to do such tasks as writing, cutting, drawing, and manipulating classroom materials is imperative. Through the materials I have chosen, such as playdough, wooden beads, puzzles, and specialized writing paper, my students will be able to develop the fine motor strength needed to meet the demands in their general education classroom.
