Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a special education teacher in an Integrated Co-Teaching classroom and we work with students who have individualized education plans and students who do not. Many of our students do not have enough access to technology and we are always looking to provide them with more.

We are a class filled with different learners who are always looking to help one another.

They are all sweet and treat one another with great respect and kindness. We are constantly looking into how to incorporate more technology into our classroom. Our job is to provide students with the skills and strategies they need in order to find success, whether they are in special education or general education.

My Project

Our students are budding readers who have learned to love and escape into the literary world. Many of them have begun to explore the picture-less chapter books and we are running out of reading options in our classroom! They have begun asking for Diary of a Wimpy Kid books, as well as Magic Tree House, Amelia Bedelia and Nancy Drew books. Many of these stories are ones we are familiar with and have fallen in love with ourselves. They are also VERY interested in reading and learning about those in American history that have made a difference in our lives.

Please help us continue to foster a love for reading and learning in our students!

They are so eager to read and escape into a book. They truly enjoy these books and discussing the events and information with each other.
