Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year, I will be working with my closest friend & awesome math coach, to teach a group of fourth-grade students who have had to go from sitting in front of a computer during covid for kindergarten to blended learning, social distancing, and working their way back into traditional schooling. This yearly change has been hard on this particular class. We are excited because despite that their resilience and optimism are inspiring.

We hope to bring them a year of wonderful new experiences, learning, and finally, the opportunity to choose how and where they want to sit when they are learning.

The flexible seating options are going to be implemented in the classroom as an alternative for students to use when they are doing their independent or group work. The sofa and saucer chairs are ideal to create a cozy spot for a calming center or enjoy a good book. Our smart board is in a weird position in our classroom so the rug is perfect to have students sit on while I teach my mini lesson. These students are a group of carefree and outspoken students who are ready to show the world what they can do!
