Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach students from a variety of backgrounds who are curious and resilient. Each resource I'm requesting will be able to provide hands-on experiences in our school garden, which is especially vital for students who may not have access to such opportunities outside of school.

The gardening tools, soil, seeds, and other supplies will allow students to engage in scientific inquiry actively, understanding concepts like plant life cycles, ecosystems, and sustainability tangibly.

The bird feeder and butterfly house will teach students the importance of pollinators in maintaining a healthy ecosystem that fosters growth. They will also learn practical skills in gardening and develop a deeper appreciation for the environment. I aim to instill a sense of responsibility for the environment and empower them to make positive changes in their community.

What makes my students special is their diverse backgrounds and the unique perspectives they bring to the classroom. Many face challenges outside of school, yet they come to class eager to learn and grow. They deserve every opportunity to succeed, and this project will help provide them with enriching experiences that will stay with them for a lifetime.
