My Project

Implementing a school garden will have a transformative impact on our educational community, fostering holistic learning experiences and sustainable practices. Students in pre-K through 5th grade will have daily access to the garden during recess. High school culinary students will help manage the gardens and use the fresh vegetables and herbs to cook with while also helping to expose younger generations to the joys of nurturing a garden into a bountiful harvest.

Through hands-on engagement with nature, students will develop a profound understanding of environmental stewardship, nutritional literacy, and scientific inquiry.

This initiative will not only enrich our curriculum but also cultivate a sense of responsibility and connection to the natural world among our students. We were fortunate enough to receive a local grant to purchase the raised beds and soils, now, we just need to put the finishing touches on our space!

Furthermore, the garden serves as a dynamic outdoor classroom, where interdisciplinary learning thrives and students are empowered to become agents of positive change in their local and global communities. By nurturing both plants and minds, our school garden will sew the seeds for a greener, healthier future.
