This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My fourth grade students are amazing kids who love coming to school everyday. They are happy to be back in-person and are eager to learn.

Our school is a Title 1 school and most of my students come from low income homes.

However, this doesn’t stop my students and their families from working hard to achieve their goals.

After spending the last 18 years teaching Kindergarten, I am now teaching 4th grade. I am enjoying working with this new grade level so much. However, one of the challenges I am facing is the lack of grade appropriate resources and reading books for them. It would be wonderful to be able to purchase grade appropriate materials for my fantastic fourth grade students.

My Project

Our classroom library is in need of more books so that the students can continue to grow as readers. Since I have taught lower grades for the majority of my teaching career we need books that are more appropriate for 4th grade students.

Help my students get engaging, diverse, and high-level reading books in our class.

My students love to read and will benefit from having more books to choose from. The Scholastic book packs that I am requesting will be a perfect fit for our classroom and help them grow as readers.
