Our room has a diverse group of learners. The learning backgrounds of each student varies, as well as the support they receive from home. Our school is in a rural farming community. Room 106 has students who are reading at a 4th grade level and also has some still learning their sounds. This can create quite a challenge.
This is why a majority of class instruction is small group learning sessions.
This happens so that the instruction is able to reach each of their needs and abilities and support then where needed. Our school recently lost funding which paid for the subscription we currently have. Having another back up tool would help these eager learners.
My Project
In class, I teach in small groups. Brain Pop Jr. would allow me to push the students as needed and give interventions to the gaps that I see. This digital tool has a variety of reading and language activities for students to engage in.
This tool will allow students to work on phonics skills, reading, writing, and comprehension with engaging activities.
It will allow me to keep track of what students are independently capable of completing. Brain Pop Jr. supports the lessons that are taught in class. Being creative allows students to be independent, and isn't just another work sheet.
