This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My preschool students are beginning a unit on growing and planting. We will focus on life cycles, they will grow radish and bean seeds as well as grass. To support the learning that takes place during the lessons, I am hoping to provide my students with literacy toys, art materials and make believe toys to support the learning. These items will be added to our dramatic play center, our games and puzzles center and our art center.

These materials will help get them ready for kindergarten by providing them with materials to create, count and learn literacy skills. They will use these materials in our dramatic play where they will learn counting and math skills as well as cooperative play. They will use the art materials to create garden related art work and exploring artistic and expressive skills. They will use materials in our games and puzzles center to focus on literacy skills as they pull out letters on carrots and match them to words.
These lessons focus on growing and these materials will help my students grow. We have already seen tremendous growth in our students over the course of a Covid effected school year and we want to end the year strong. Help us end our year strong and get these students ready for Kindergarten.
