Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are a mixture of English and Spanish speakers, attending a two-way immersion program. They learn in both languages each day, always showing their busy bee, "bee-lingual" pride! I work as a reading specialist to support students in English phonics, fluency, and comprehension.

Building a solid school-home connection will help my striving readers boost their literacy skills.

Using heavy-duty Lakeshore storage pouches and decodable readers, I will be able to send home bags with my students so they can practice essential reading skills. I also want to include fun, easy games! I also plan to include bilingual information on how to help boost literacy skills with simple, at-home activities.
