My students need a Circuits Accessory Pack to add electronic components to their projects. My students also need the Roominate Chateau, Helicopter, and Studio kits to develop STEM skills.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
This year, I have become a STEAM facilitator in our elementary building. My wish is to add materials to the "Girls with Gadgets" club that I started last school year. Girls with Gadgets was created to engage girls in STEAM education while building self-confidence and creativity!
My students for this program are female students grades 3-6.
They are bright, resourceful young ladies with an excitement for "doing something the boys only used to do." Our school promotes STEAM education to all of its students, grades K-6. The girls in the upper grades have shown a particular interest in hands-on problem-solving and making. This year, the STEAM facilitator position was created so that various faculty members would be able to allow our students more opportunities to explore the facets of STEAM.
My Project
Our female students (grades 3-6) have an opportunity to visit the STEAM studio once a week (during their recess period) with the Girls with Gadgets club. Each week, we explore the different resources we currently have. We currently have the basic and deluxe Roominate kits, as well as multiple GoldieBlox kids. Throughout the course of the year, the girls will learn spatial skills, reasoning, fine motor skills, and basic circuitry. The materials I am requesting are additional Roominate kits.
Roominate, the world's first wired dollhouse building toy, makes science and engineering fun. Girls design and build their dream house with working elevators, electric circuits, and more! Roominate’s unique blend of building, circuits, design, crafts, storytelling, and creativity teaches kids while they play. Using motor and light circuits, modular furniture building pieces and walls, Roominate empowers kids to build endless amazing creations!
Donations to this project will allow the Girls with Gadgets program to grow.
New materials will keep the students engaged and allow them to explore additional resources that they have not be introduced to before. In addition, it will hopefully bring in more students who are excited to explore being "makers" and problem-solvers.
