Growing Gardens, Geckos and Dragons

Help me give my students bulbs, seeds and plant food for growing plants in our classroom, bulbs for our class reptiles, and basic supplies like scissors, pencils and glue sticks.

My Project

My students love science, and they especially love the hands-on experiments, projects, and dissection labs.

My favorite part of teaching is seeing their eyes light up when they make a discovery during a lab.

One of the topics we study during the year is ecology where we study how plants grow and develop. We have some grow light setups in our classroom, but the bulbs for them are starting to burn out. I've requested some new bulbs, plant food, and plant seeds to keep these gardens going. The plant seeds are different herbs, and we can share those with the FACS teacher, or feed my bearded dragon. I've also requested some heat and UVB bulbs to maintain the environment for our classroom geckos and bearded dragon.

In my science classes, my students create interactive notebooks.

They use the notebooks to take notes, record lab experiments, and create foldable activities about our current learning objectives. Because we are cutting out items for our interactive notebooks daily, we go through a lot of glue sticks! I am requesting glue sticks, pencils, scissors, and markers to use for our interactive notebooks. I would like to have enough scissors and glue sticks that students don't have to share when adding to our notebook. This would make my class run more efficiently and cut out the "wait time" we currently have while students wait for others to finish. I also requested markers and pencils for students to use when adding diagrams or drawings to their notebooks.
