My Project

Seventh graders are at a crucial stage of cognitive and emotional development where their minds are expanding rapidly and their appetites seem insatiable. Introducing them to a diverse array of books not only enhances their reading skills but also broadens their horizons, exposing them to different cultures, ideas, and perspectives. Books serve as windows into worlds they may not have encountered otherwise, fostering empathy, critical thinking, and creativity. With access to a variety of books tailored to their interests and reading levels, seventh graders can develop a lifelong love for reading that will serve them well academically and personally.

Moreover, providing snacks to seventh graders during school hours can have numerous benefits.

Adolescence is a time of rapid physical growth and increased energy expenditure. Providing nutritious snacks not only helps fuel their bodies but also supports their concentration and cognitive function throughout the school day. Many seventh graders experience hunger during the school day, which can distract them from learning and contribute to behavioral issues. By offering healthy snacks, schools can ensure that students have the energy they need to focus on their studies and participate actively in class.

In conclusion, seventh graders stand to benefit greatly from access to more books and snacks. Books nourish their minds, fostering critical thinking, empathy, and a love for learning, while snacks nourish their bodies, supporting their physical growth and cognitive function. By investing in these resources as a donor, my classroom will create a more supportive environment that empowers seventh graders to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally during this pivotal stage of their development.
