Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Yoga has helped my students relax, relieve stress and anxiety, improve emotional regulation, increase empathy, and improve mood and affect. As a class we participate in yoga instruction throughout the day, we use it in large groups, small groups, and transitions. We conduct Yoga instruction indoors, outdoors, and in hallways.

Having yoga mats and sensory mindfulness activities will improve students' engagement and mental health.

Challenges with Covid-19 restriction have impacted students' and families' lives.

This project will benefit the whole child, which includes the home family. A family member will receive a presentation of the benefits of yoga and how to include it in everyday life at home, they will also receive colored yoga cards with instructions on different ways and strategies to do yoga and mindfulness activities.
