Growing a Greener Future: Students Take Action for Earth Day

Help me give my students A hands-on learning experience where they can plant and care for their herbs, vegetables, and California native plants allowing them to apply what they’ve learned in class to the real world.

My Project

My students are passionate, driven, and eager to make a real impact. They took the initiative to create Earth Club, a student-led group focused on environmental action.

This year, some of my students want to bring their learning from AP Environmental Science (APES) into the real world by starting a school garden for Earth Day.

They’ve already been working hard, weeding out long-unused planters to prepare the space. Now, they’ve asked me to help them take the next step—to create a thriving garden where they can grow herbs, vegetables, and California native plants while applying sustainability principles.

This project isn’t just about gardening—it’s about empowering students to take action for the environment. It’s about showing them that their efforts matter and that they can create real change.

With your support, we can provide my students with the resources they need to make their Earth Day project a success and leave a lasting impact on our school community.
