Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

There are so many skills that get woven into a quality science education. Students need to learn how to observe closely, make connections, and communicate effectively. The practice dexterity and patience. They develop attitudes of stewardship and compassion. And they need an authentic context to do it all within.

Interesting phenomena give them a meaningful reason to practice those skills.

From mushrooms and butterfly larvae to seeds and owl pellets, these 'gross' and cool natural phenomena will inspire and motivate my students. And, of course, basic supplies like notebooks, pencils, and snacks all help to fuel the learning.
