Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember the feeling of getting hooked on a book? Do you remember saying "just one more chapter" because you are so immersed in the story? My students share that joy and are inquisitive readers who are craving more stories to read.

My students are resilient.

The majority of my students are English language learners and started the school year reading two or more years below grade level. Many of them have grown multiple years already but are yearning for more books! Access to culturally relevant and interesting books are essential to their success! Everyday, students visit my library and tell me they crushed their reading goal and need a new book to read. There's a buzz around reading and I love that my students are so excited to read and grow.

My Project

These books will continue to enhance my library for my students! My classroom library is a place that students really love. Every book in my library is treated with love and care and students are so thankful to have new books to read. I am a big believer in student choice and truly believe that students should read books that interest them.

These graphic novels will keep my students engaged in reading and help them grow!

The best way to increase reading level is to read more, and these books will certainly help my students grow their individual reading levels. My students are already so invested and interested in reading, and this will only enhance their reading more! They are craving new books since school closure and I am so excited to provide them with a beautiful library when they return!
